ABOUT
Who am I?
I'm a graduate Interaction Design student from Fontys in Eindhoven (NL). I have been gaming my whole life and I always wanted to know how games are made. Now, as a graduate student, I learned and I am still eager to learn new things and use the things that I learn to make fantastic products. My different experiences during my education have taught me the different aspects of Game Design and Development and help me see the bigger picture, see how things can work together and forsee barriers before they are hit.
During my study, I have done Media Design where I learned about gamification, 3D-Modelling (Maya) and using the Adobe CC suite. After this I specialised myself in Game Design where I started with making games ranging from First Person Shooters to Virtual Reality experiences in the XR minor.
MEDIA DESIGN
Besides making games, I also like to work with the Adobe CC suite. During my Media Design semesters, some assignments were about making posters, magazine pages, infographics, moodboards, video edits, etc. So, I know my way in these apps and I have also used these skills for the games that I make. For example, my own VR game that needed to have an introduction video and in Catalyst, the logo, all icons and visuals are selfmade and it also needed a trailer, which I also made.
Advanced Game Design & Development
During the Advanced game Design & Technology semester, one of the assignments were to make an own game studio with other students. We made: Gatling Gecko Studios. I also did a project about accessibility in games, where I researched accessibility features for minorly disabled players.
As a game studio, we had to make, promote and publish our own game. My role in this company was creating the UX and UI. I made the HUD, menus and, because I worked on accessibility, I also added accessibility features in this game.
XR Minor
I was always interested in making Virtual Reality experiences and in semester 6, I did the XR Minor. Here I got to learn different things about Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality. I also tested out different devices that are made for these experiences: Meta Quest 2, Magic Leap, RealWare and Manus Glove. And I learned myself how to make 3D-models in Blender.
In this semester, I got the opportunity to make my own Virtual Reality game to research immersion in VR. I also got to work on a project for Enversed Studios (Eindhoven, NL) where I made 3D-Models ready for VR. And for the third project, I made 3D-Models for VR Chat that would be used for a Virtual Gaming Hub for Fontys.
